Zia Rahman

Zia Rahman is a Professor and the founding Chairman of the Department of Criminology at the University of Dhaka, and is a sociologist. He has a 2nd Masters and a Ph.D. from the University of Calgary (U of C), Canada where he also taught two senior undergraduate courses, and contributed as a Teaching Assistant for more than 15 semesters.

Dr. Zia is in the Board of Directors at the International Society of Criminology. His areas of research include labour relations and labour movements, social movements, globalization, urban sociology, political sociology and criminology.
